Florida female, 20, gives birth in toilet, leaves newborn girl there, waits until baby ‘stops crying and moving,’ cops say

Demegillo claimed she thought the infant was deceased, so she hid the infant in a duffle bag in her closet and went about her normal daily routine, officials said.
When Demegillo returned home from a theater performance in New Smyrna Beach, she buried the deceased infant in a shallow grave in her backyard, officials said, adding that at no point did Demegillo contact emergency services for assistance.
Detectives determined that Demegillo knowingly and purposefully allowed the newborn to drown in the toilet, officials said.
Chief Deputy Joe Barile of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office told WESH-TV, “It baffles me, to be completely honest. Sometimes you can’t explain everything.”
The newborn girl weighed three pounds, six ounces, and measured 18 inches long, the station noted.
“She goes to the bathroom, she thought she had cramps, pains, and … she goes into labor, and then delivers a child,” Barile said, according to WESH. “She sees it in the toilet, leaves it there, watches it, hears it cry, and waits until it stops crying and moving.”…
Spring break blues: DHS highlights outrageous airport conditions amid Democrat shutdown

DHS wrote on X: “SECURITY LINES OUT THE DOOR. Americans are now missing their flights because of the Democrats [sic] shutdown of DHS. Their political stunt is forcing patriotic TSA officers to work without pay โ leading to financial hardship, absences, and crippling staffing shortages. Enough is enough: Democrats must fund DHS NOW.”
TSA seconded the post: “Enough is enough. The Democrat shutdown of DHS must end!”
Airports across the country have warned passengers to arrive at the airport several hours ahead of their scheduled flight.
For example, Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport posted an update on Monday morning telling passengers to plan to arrive three hours before their flight, adding that TSA security lines could take up to two hours to get through.
Likewise, Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport cautioned passengers to arrive “4-5 hours before their flight to allow extra time for TSA screening.”
The warning added that TSA wait time “may exceed 180 minutes.”
Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for the City of Houston’s Department of Aviation,ย estimatedย that area airports are expecting 2.2 million travelers during the busy spring break season. The increased numbers of travelers paired with the decreased staff numbers at TSA because of the government shutdown have caused dramatic delays…
11-year-old Florida boy just arrested for making death threat was charged with same crime in October: Police

The sheriff’s office said the boy has been in a diversion program as a result of his last arrest in October at Southwestern Middle School after he sent a group message “IM GONNA SHOOT YOU” from another student’s communications account.
But officials said the 11-year-old on Thursday once again used another student’s account to send the message “imma shoot you” to seven teachers at DeLand Middle School.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood had strong words for those who “coddle” young people accused of such crimes.
“Now understand this. We have 63,000 students and 4,400 teachers in Volusia County Schools. I know some want to make excuses and coddle the select few who choose to make threats. You can pat them on the head and tell them everything’s going to be alright. My job is to look out for everyone else,” Chitwood wrote. “These idiotic threats disrupt our schools, eat up time and resources, and increase the chances a real threat slips through the cracks. If you can threaten to shoot 7 teachers you can take a perp walk. Parents, discipline your kids and I won’t have to.”
Such arrests seem to be piling up in Florida.
- The day before the 11-year-old boy’s arrest last week, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Officeย arrested a 10-year-old boyย and perp-walked him on camera after officials said he threatened to bring a gun to his elementary school and left a kill list in his classroom.
- Late last month the Volusia County Sheriff’s Officeย saidย officers arrested a 12-year-old girl after she posted online a “detailed manifesto” about carrying out a mass shooting at a middle school due to bullying.
- Also in February, aย pair of 15-year-olds were arrestedย after being accused of threatening to shoot up high schools, police said.
- In late October, anย 11-year-old girl was arrestedย after writing a “kill list” at her desk at school, police said. Then just two weeks later, anย 11-year-old boyย from the same school district was arrested after allegedly creating a “kill list” at school, police said.
- Also in October, a Florida sheriff’s office came under fire for postingย 9-year-old male’s mug shotย on Facebook after his felony arrest for allegedly bringing a knife into his elementary school.
- Just a week prior, that same sheriff’s office said aย 10-year-old was arrestedย and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, a third-degree felony, after bringing a pocketknife to school and threatening another student. The sheriff’s office posted the suspect’s name and mug shot.

Four earthquakes strike Louisiana in under 10 minutes, days after the state’s largest quake in its history

Four earthquakes ranging from magnitude 3.1 to 4.0 rattled Louisiana early Monday morning, striking within 10 minutes between 4:33 and 4:41 a.m. CT.
The U.S. Geological Survey said that the first earthquake struck at 4:33 a.m. about 2.5 miles northwest of Edgefield at a depth of 3.1 miles, reaching a magnitude of 3.1.
About a minute later, another magnitude 3.1 earthquake occurred roughly 1.9 miles north-northeast of the same village at the same depth.
Following that, a magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck around 4:40 a.m. at almost the exact same spot, just about 1.9 miles northeast of Edgefield, and again at the same depth of 3.1 miles.
The last earthquake that rattled the state hit around 4:41 a.m. at a magnitude 4.0, within the same vicinity, about 5 miles west-northwest of the village.
So far, the USGS says residents as far south as Coushatta and as far north as Minden reported feeling the shaking.
This comes just four days after a magnitude 4.9 earthquake jolted the state within the same location, Red River Parish, marking it the strongest earthquake ever in the stateโs history….
Coast Guard cutter Munro returns to California home after record-breaking 11-Ton cocaine seizure

A U.S. Coast Guard cutter and its crew returned to their home in California following a 119-day mission in which they seized more than 22,000 pounds of cocaine, the largest maritime drug seizure in 18 years, in the Atlantic in support of the Trump administration’s effort to target drug traffickers.
The cutter Munro left its port in Alameda on Nov. 3, 2025 for training and participation in Resolute Hunter exercise offshore of San Diego, before sailing into the Pacific Ocean to conduct counternarcotics patrols in support of the U.S. Coast Guardโs Operation Pacific Viper.
However, the ship was diverted to the Atlantic Ocean in support of Operation Southern Spear, a Trump administration effort to target and disrupt transnational criminal networks, the War Department said Monday.
“The service, our nation and our families can be extremely proud of Munro,” said Capt. Jim OโMara, Munroโs commanding officer. “This crew rose to every new challenge thrown at them with professionalism and persistence, and they achieved historic results. This was a one-of-a-kind deployment for us, but it is also just one part of a much broader campaign and U.S. national strategy.”
After transiting the Panama Canal, the Munro patrolled the Carribean Sea, where it followed the U.S.-sanctioned Motor Tanker Bella 1, across the Atlantic Ocean for 18 days and 4,900 miles.
The vessel was determined to be without nationality and subject to U.S. jurisdiction. The crew of the Munro boarded the Bella to seize control of the 333-meter crude oil carrier…..
Explosion at Belgian Synagogue Investigated as Potential Terror Attack

At around 4 am on Monday morning, a blast was heard outside the synagogue on Rue Lรฉon Frรฉdรฉricq in the city of Liรจge, in the French-speaking Wallonia region of Belgium. Fortunately, no one was injured in the explosion.
According to a report from Le Soir, federal prosecutors have taken over the case โgiven the possible indications of a terrorist act.โ
The countryโs Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (SEDEE) has also been deployed to the scene to investigate.
So far, authorities have not commented on a possible motive; however, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever wrote of the attack: โAn explosion occurred in front of a synagogue in Liรจge last night. Antisemitism is an attack on our values and our society, and we must fight it unequivocally.
โWe stand in solidarity with the Jewish community in Liรจge and across the country.โ
Minister of the Interior Bernard Quintin also condemned the attack as an โabject antisemitic act that directly targeted Belgiumโs Jewish community.โ
Quintin said that, in addition to the federal investigation, security measures will be increased around โsimilar sitesโ.
It comes amid heightened concern across Europe over potential terror attacks against Jewish or American targets in reprisal for the conflict in Iran….
