US Issues Alert Over Possible Iranian Message to Sleeper Operatives

Summary from the AllSides News Team

A federal alert was reportedly sent out to law enforcement agencies following the interception of an encrypted transmission believed to have originated in Iran.

The Transmission: The broadcast was sent out globally via a new shortwave radio frequency within days of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death on Feb. 28. The message began with “Tavajjoh! Tavajjoh!” Tavajjoh is the Persian word for “attention.” The call to attention is followed by a string of seemingly random numbers, which is very similar to the way KGB and CIA spies once received orders. The message seemed to be for “clandestine recipients” who could decode the message using an encryption key.

Alert: ABC News (Lean Left bias) reportedly reviewed the federal alert, saying it cites “preliminary signals analysis” of a transmission likely originating in Iran. The alert said the transmission could possibly “be intended to activate or provide instructions to prepositioned sleeper assets operating outside the originating country.” The federal alert said that “the exact contents of these transmissions cannot currently be determined” and there is “no operational threat tied to a specific location,” but added that “the sudden appearance of a new station with international rebroadcast characteristics warrants heightened situational awareness.”

Southern California: The Los Angeles Times (Lean Left) noted that Southern California hosts “more than 700,000” people of Iranian descent, “the largest single population outside Iran.” The article said that as the US and Israeli offensive continues in Iran, federal counterterrorism authorities have warned “that the desperate theocracy could launch retaliatory strikes on American soil using sleeper cells, affiliated Iranian terrorist groups, lone wolf sympathizers or targeted cyberattacks.” The outlet also noted the investigation over possible terrorism motivations for the mass shooting in Austin, Texas, where 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne killed two people and injured 14 while wearing a hoodie that read “Property of Allah,” and a t-shirt depicting the Iranian flag.

“Democrat Shutdown”: The National News Desk (Right) highlighted President Donald Trump’s statements concerning the “Democrat Shutdown” of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS funding has been halted since Valentine’s Day after members of Congress failed to reach an agreement on immigration enforcement measures. Trump said “One of the things we have to do is get the Democrats to stop the Democrat shutdown because as you know, the apparatus that looks into that [terrorism and threats to the US homeland], (Sen. Chuck) Schumer (D-NY) and the Democrats have shut it down.”  Trump also noted that the threats came into the country under the Biden administration. The New York Post (Lean Right) cited former assistant FBI director Chris Swecker, saying “If ever there’s going to be a Hezbollah cell or a Hamas cell act in the United States in a violent way, it’s now.”

With no food, electricity or medical care, Cubans are โ€˜asking God to help, and bring us Donald Trumpโ€™

Pedro Quiala Carmenate says heโ€™s not religious but heโ€™s praying for President Donald Trump to liberate Cuba.

โ€œThereโ€™s no food, thereโ€™s no electricity and thereโ€™s no medical care,โ€ he told The Post from his neighborhood, Old Havana, where he was speaking on his cell phone Monday during one of the frequent blackouts on the island.

In addition to power outages, an increase in crime, no trash collection and climbing inflation, the 34-year-old pro-democracy activist can barely find enough food to feed his children.

Due to lack of food, heโ€™s keeping his kids, aged six and fifteen years old, from class, although he also notes teachers have stopped showing up to the government-run schools.

โ€œI am not a religious person, but I pray to God for Donald Trump. He is our only hope for freedom.โ€

The capture of former Venezuelan strongman president Nicolas Maduro in a US military special operation earlier this year had two effects on Cuba. It cut off the main supplier of oil to the nation, and gave dissidents against the Communist Cuban government โ€” led by President Miguel Diaz-Canel โ€” hope.

Activist Josรฉ Daniel Ferrerโ€™s cell phone blew up with messages from fellow activists in Cuba on January 3, the day Maduro was captured.

โ€œI must have gotten 60 messages asking me when the US military would be on their way to Cuba to get rid of Diaz- Canel,โ€ said Ferrer, 55, who leads the a pro-democracy movement and has been repeatedly incarcerated and tortured for his activism over the years.

โ€œThe majority of Cubans want the Americans to intervene because they are living through the worst period of the 67-year dictatorship.โ€

Blackouts and shortages are nothing new in Cuba since Fidel Castro seized power in 1959 in the name of Communism.

However, hardships have increased in recent years, leading to a mass exodus of over 800,000 people in each of the last four years. This is equivalent to around 25% of the population, leaving less than eight million on the island,ย according to The Guardian.….

Kiss legend Gene Simmons tore apart celebrities who weigh into politics, saying they should shut up and focus on acting and singing.

The 76-year-old outspoken star slammed actors such as Ben Stiller and Mark Ruffalo who regularly attack President Donald Trump especially after his strikes on Iran.

โ€œBasically, shut the f**k up,โ€ Simmons told TMZ. โ€œDo your art and shut up. Nobodyโ€™s interested in your opinions, that includes me. Who I vote for. Who I like.โ€

โ€œWho the f**k do you think you are? People in America work hard for a living and they donโ€™t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls Royces. Itโ€™s time for everybody in the entertainment industry to shut their pie-hole.โ€

Simmons said it would be best if these entertainers just did their art because he said nobody cares what they think about the war and other political issues, including him.

The rocker then suggested that you might as well go ask the โ€œKeeping up with the Kardashiansโ€ star Kylie Jenner what she thinks of the war when Stiller and Ruffalo weigh in on politics….

New York’s Democratic lawmakers are pitching tax hikes on wealthy New Yorkers and corporations, setting up a clash with Gov. Kathy Hochul, who has rejected calls to increase rates in an election year.

Legislative leaders rolled out the so-called one-house budget plans this week, which kick off negotiations with Hochul on a new spending plan ahead of the stateโ€™s April 1 budget deadline.

Democrats in the state Senate and Assembly propose raising $5 billion more for New York City to help it reduce a budget deficit through a combination of taxes and increased state aid.

In the Assembly, Democrats want to raise $2 billion by increasing tax rates on individuals who make more than $5 million a year, $1.9 billion from corporations and $95 million from a “crypto mining facility tax.”

Meanwhile, Senate Democrats want to raise $5.2 billion by pushing through a new income tax hike on the city’s top earners and eliminating tax breaks for climate polluters, among other changes.

The proposals come in response to requests from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has asked lawmakers for authority to increase taxes on the city’s wealthiest and corporations to help reduce a $5.4 billion budget shortfall and fund his progressive agenda.

In a statement, Mamdani praised Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins for taking โ€œmeaningful steps toward closing the deficit we inherited.โ€ …

NYCโ€™s minimum wage could hit $30 โ€” highest in the US โ€” under new proposed law

The New York City Council is set to propose a record-breaking $30-per-hour minimum wage bill on Tuesday, which would nearly double the Big Appleโ€™s current baseline pay of $17, Gothamist first reported.

The bill is sponsored by lefty Councilwoman Sandy Nurse (D-37) and echoes one of Mayor Zohran Mamdaniโ€™s campaign promises to lift the Big Appleโ€™s minimum pay to $30 by the year 2030.

Despite the similarities, Mamdani declined to explicitly support the legislation in a statement provided to The Post.

โ€œMayor Mamdani believes that all New Yorkers need to make a living wageโ€ to address the affordability crisis.

โ€œAs the administration reviews this specific legislation, the mayor remains committed to tackling the cost-of-living crisis using every tool at the cityโ€™s disposal,โ€ said a spokesperson for the mayor, Dora Pekec.

The proposed pay increases would happen gradually and call for employers with upward of 500 employees to lift worker salaries to $20 an hour by 2027 and $30 an hour by 2030. The minimum pay rate in New York City rose to $17 an hour this year after hitting $15 an hour in 2018.

The change would affect upward of 1 million city workers who currently make minimum wage.

Federal agents continue to arrest Guatemalans involved in human smuggling and trafficking operations, including of children, who are also involved in violating federal labor laws.

The latest arrest was of Guatemalan national Brayan Adiel Gramajo Reyes, who was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pocatello, Idaho, on multiple smuggling and labor law violations.

They include โ€œtwo counts of encouraging illegal entry of aliens to enter the United States, eight counts of using false statements for employment verification by attesting that Social Security numbers were genuine and that the employees were authorized to work in the United States, knowing that was false, and one count of unlawful employment of aliens.โ€

The indictment was returned after a multi-agency investigation led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations special agents in Idaho.

According to the HSI investigation, Gramajo persuaded two โ€œunaccompanied alien childrenโ€ (UACs) to be smuggled to the U.S. from Guatemala only to subject them into a forced labor situation involving working long hours of physical labor.

“Rescuing unaccompanied children who are tragically exploited and trafficked is a top HSI priority,โ€ HSI Seattle acting Special Agent in Charge April Miller said. โ€œOur investigation underscores HSIโ€™s resolve to enforce our U.S. law and safeguard every child. Additionally, worksite enforcement is central to protecting our communities โ€“ targeting illegal employment networks, rescuing victims and stopping fraudulent business practices that harm real Americans.โ€

Under the Biden administration, an estimated 450,000 UACs were smuggled into the country. The Trump administration claims to have located more than 132,000 of them….

The Lion Awakens: Why the Church Must Hold the Line for the West

Tommy Robinson interviews Pastor Daniel Hayworth of Vintage Church in Texas, uncovering a bold movement of “Christian Constitutionalists” who refuse to remain silent in the face of spiritual and cultural threats.

Pastor Daniel argues that the Church has long been lulled into a “secular slumber,” mistakenly believing that faith should remain private while the foundational values of the West are dismantled.

By contrasting the life and legacy of Jesus with that of Muhammad, Daniel sounds a clarion call for believers to reclaim their role in the public square, asserting that the survival of liberty and the American experiment depends entirely on a Church that is awake, educated, and unafraid.

He presents a vision of a “Golden Age of Christendom” where the followers of Christ act as the ultimate line of defence against destructive ideologies, standing firm in the hope of the resurrected King.

Home Sales Surge As Affordability Hits Best Level In Four Years

Sales rose 1.7 percent from January to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million units, the National Association of Realtors reported Tuesday. This was well above the 3.88 million analysts had forecast.

First-time buyers represented 34 percent of February purchases, up from 31 percent in both January and a year ago, matching the highest share in five years. The surge suggests that buyers who had been frozen out by years of high rates and elevated prices are finally finding their way back into the market.

The headline number masked an even stronger story in the segment that matters most to American families. Single-family home sales rose 2.5 percent on the month, driving the overall gain while condo sales declined.

The sales beat came as housing affordability reached its best level in nearly four years.

The NARโ€™s Housing Affordability Index rose to 117.6 in February, the highest reading since March 2022, as mortgage rates fell to 6.05 percent โ€” a full percentage point below where they stood a year ago โ€” and wage growth continued to outpace home price appreciation by nearly four percentage points.

โ€œHousing affordability is improving, and consumers are responding,โ€ said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun….
