US plans to deploy more than 80 unmanned robotic warships to counter China’s naval dominance

The US Navy has incorporated unmanned surface and underwater vessels into its 30-year shipbuilding plan for the first time.
The fiscal year 2027 update, released May 12, calls for a fleet of 450 vessels by 2031, consisting of 299 warships, 68 auxiliary ships, and 83 unmanned robotic vessels.
“Our success will be measured by one metric: a larger, more capable fleet—manned and unmanned—ready to defend our homeland and project power globally,” Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao stated in the report’s foreword.
Unlike previous shipbuilding plans, which mentioned unmanned systems only in broad terms, this update provides specific procurement targets and timelines for the first time.
The plan calls for the procurement of 47 Medium Unmanned Surface Vessels (MUSVs) by 2031, with a long-term goal of maintaining an inventory of 72 by 2056.
It also commits funding for Extra Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (XLUUVs).
This including $135.8 million in fiscal year 2027 to acquire the first two XLUUVs, and a total of $1.1 billion through 2031 to reach 16 vessels.
The new plan aligns with the US military’s broader plans for combining high-value human crewed platforms with lower-cost autonomous vehicles that can provide cover and draw enemy fire….
US Air Force to expand capabilities with 3D-printed 1,320-pound attack drone fleet

The U.S. Air Force has awarded California-based AEVEX Aerospace an $18.5 million contract to provide tactical drones designed for one-way attack missions.
The deal includes aircraft production along with technical and field support services.
These drones are classified as Group 3 unmanned aerial systems.
They weigh less than 1,320 pounds (599 kilograms), fly below 18,000 feet (5,486 meters) below, and have speeds under 250 knots (289 miles per hour).
Announced on May 13, AEVEX said the program will rely on additive manufacturing and scalable 3D-printing methods to speed up production and field deployment.
The company plans to use its manufacturing and engineering network spread across Alabama, California, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia to complete the work….
Robots vs Wild: Japan turns to handmade ‘monster wolves’ to prevent deadly bear attacks

Since the start of 2025, bear encounters have reportedly surged to terrifying levels, with over 50,000 sightings reported nationwide.
Official data confirms 13 fatalities and over 200 injuries so far, figures that break previous mortality records.
As the risk increases, so does the demand for the mechanical wolves built by Hokkaido manufacturer Ohta Seiki.
The Monster Wolf is a solar-powered robot built to look like a wild predator and scare away pests.
It uses motion sensors, flashing lights, and loud noises to frighten animals before they get too close to farms and towns.
The device features a rugged, fur-draped pipe frame topped by a snarling, open-mouthed head with fangs and piercing red LED eyes. When its infrared sensors detect movement, the robot springs into a menacing sequence:
its head jerks from side to side to simulate a prowling predator, while a rapid blue LED flashes on its tail for added visual distress.
Moreover, the robotic system includes a high-volume speaker with over 50 randomized audio clips to prevent animals from becoming desensitized to the threat.
The clips range from piercing 90-decibel howls and electronic screeches to recorded human voices….

Nolte — Bombshell: Left-Wing Tech Billionaires Are Paying the Full Salaries of Dozens of ‘Journalists’ at Top Media Companies

Behind this corruption is a far-left, globalist organization called Effective Altruism (EA), which the New York Post describes as a “billionaire-backed movement [that] aims to solve the world’s problems” which wants to send the message that “unchecked AI will destroy us all,” and that we must “prioritize causes like climate change, global health, poverty, [and] pandemics.”
EA wants to end factory farming. Okay, and replace it with what — insects? We have to feed 8.3 billion people every single day.
No one should blame EA. These fascist tech bros are merely doing whatever it takes to further their fascist cause. If you believe in something, you take every advantage to promote it.
What is obscene here…
What is indefensible here…
What is inexcusable here is this:
To spread their message the group has the Tarbell Center for AI Journalism — funded in part by EA foundations — which pays full salaries of journalists placed inside such newsrooms as Time, Bloomberg, MIT Technology Review and The Guardian, NBC News, and The Verge.
Then there’s Ezra Klein at the New York Times:
New York Times superstar columnist Ezra Klein has maintained deep, longstanding ties to EA and its billionaires, and even uses his widely read NYT column to solicit donations to them.
How can you call yourself a progressive if you solicit donations to an organization run by… billionaires?
These people, man.
Here’s a better question: What credible news outlet would be okay with having a political organization pay the full salaries of their mouthpieces to work in their newsroom?..
Two House Members Remain MIA with Unexplained Health Issues, Missing Dozens of Votes

Reps. Tom Kean Jr. (R-NJ) and Frederica Wilson (D-FL) have been missing in action — and not voted — in more than a month.
Kean, 57, has not cast a vote since March 5 because of what his campaign called a “personal medical issue” without further elaboration, the Hill reported.
Wilson, 83, has not voted since April 17, though she is expected to return to the Capitol next week.
“The absences come as leaders in both parties are encouraging full participation from their members, given the razor-thin margins in the House,” according to the outlet.
Wilson’s four-week absence went unnoticed until reporter Jamie Dupree noted it in a post on X this week, leading reporters to question House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) about it….
This is insane…
The Charlie Kirk killing is treated here as something bigger than an isolated act, because once questions around influence, censorship, foreign policy, and who benefits start colliding, it opens up a much wider conversation about power, fear, and what happens when political voices begin shifting direction. DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin Joins ICE in Virginia for Operation to Arrest Criminal Alien
Mullin, who traded his role as the junior Republican senator from Oklahoma to lead DHS in March, announced that his officers “arrested a criminal illegal, removed multiple times from our country, whose rap sheet includes drug possession and driving under the influence.”
In his social media announcement of the early-morning arrest, the secretary blamed Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) for making Virginia a “magnet for criminal illegal aliens” with her “sanctuary policies.”
“Roughly 50 percent of the murderers in Fairfax, Virginia — the perps are illegals. Shouldn’t even be in the country to begin with,” Mullin said in a video shot at the scene of the arrest:
“You have, you know, politicians that want to protect the criminals,” he added. “President Trump is still protecting all of our neighborhoods.”
Later in the day, Mullin touted the fact that zero illegal aliens have been released at the U.S.-Mexico border, a stark contrast from the Biden administration. …
CIA Director John Ratcliffe Visits Cuba for Meetings with Communist Regime

Details of the visit have not been publicly disclosed at press time.
An unnamed CIA source claimed to the Associated Press that Director Ratcliffe visited Cuba “to personally deliver President Donald Trump’s message that the United States is prepared to seriously engage on economic and security issues, but only if Cuba makes fundamental changes.”
CBS News reports that Ratcliffe met with Interior Minister Lázaro Álvarez Casas, the head of Cuban intelligence services, and Raúl Guillermo “The Crab” Rodríguez Castro, the grandson of Cuba’s nonagenarian communist dictator Raúl Castro.
CBS News, citing an unnamed CIA source, reported that Ratcliffe and the Cuban officials “‘discussed intelligence cooperation, economic stability, and security issues,’ all against the backdrop that Cuba can no longer be a safe haven for adversaries in the Western Hemisphere.”
Ratcliffe reportedly told the communist regime representatives that the Trump administration was offering “a genuine opportunity for collaboration and a chance to stabilize Cuba’s struggling economy,” CBS said. Such an offer from the United States, the source pointed out, would “not remain open indefinitely” and, if necessary, the U.S. would enforce “red lines.”…

Man shot at In-N-Out drive-thru drove family to safety with bullet lodged in head

Garcia, 28, was in a car with his wife and two children, ages 2 and 7, when shots rang out near the burger chain.
The gunfire shattered the car windows and struck Garcia in the head; his wife and children were uninjured, police said.
“In the middle of chaos and fear, while he was injured and in pain, he somehow found the strength to drive us out of the scene to safety,” his wife wrote in an online fundraiser. “He protected our family before thinking of himself. That is the kind of man and father he is.”
Images posted online showed the bullet that was removed from Garcia’s head during surgery in February, according to his wife.
She also noted that Garcia did not suffer major brain damage and is currently recovering at home.

WATCH: Soros prosecutor’s hearing devolves into angry chaos over illegal immigrant rape case: ‘Be quiet!’

Knott recounted the case of Honduran national Hyrum Baquedano-Rodriguez – who was “caught-and-released” by an immigration judge in Eloy, Arizona, during the Biden administration – and who was later accused in a graphic case involving the 4-year-old Annandale girl.
Knott noted how the girl’s mother woke up to the child screaming and appearing bruised on her buttocks and torso as the suspect “dropped” the girl and fled in what the lawmaker characterized as a potential attempted abduction.
Knott said Fairfax County Police obtained a warrant based on evidence of attempted murder, rape, robbery or arson, which he said carries a maximum penalty of 20 years, while intent to defile a youth carried a maximum life sentence.
“Once it was handed over to your office, inexplicably so, you immediately reduced the burglary offense to a misdemeanor, which capped the sentence at 12 months. You then reduced the abduction charge to an offense that was a lower degree and capped the sentence at 10 years.”
“A disgusting, perverted individual preying on children that you dismissed the case — As the father of two young girls. One of them’s five. That is as shameful as anything I have seen,” Knott said as Descano became angry as well:
“Please don’t talk to me like I don’t care about people in my community,” he said, before Knott responded, calling him a “coward.”
Knott, himself a former Raleigh-area prosecutor, lit into Descano over the added fact that a “liberal” judge appointed by then-Gov. Mark Warner — now a top Democratic senator — rejected Descano’s plea deal.
“This was not a right-wing judge,” Knott fumed as Descano attempted multiple times to interject while tensions rose….

Longtime Democratic Rep Steve Cohen announces end to re-election bid

Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee announced on Friday that he signed a document requesting not to be included on the ballot in Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District.
The congressman described the district determined by “new lines” as “nothing like the 9th district that I’ve represented.”
The Democratic primary in the district is scheduled to take place in August.
A press release from Cohen’s office says the lawmaker’s “majority-Black district was gerrymandered into three Republican-leaning districts by the state General Assembly last week.”…
