Three Shot in DC as Politicians Hide Behind Armed Guards

Three men were gunned down in Northwest D.C. just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday — and the same politicians who gutted policing will sleep fine tonight behind their armed security details.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of 6th Street NW to find two men conscious and breathing with gunshot wounds.
One suffered non-life-threatening injuries; the other took serious hits. A third victim walked into a local hospital on his own, connected to the same shooting.
Police are hunting a suspect described as wearing all black with black dreadlocks.
Meanwhile, in Detroit, a man believed to be in his 30s was found shot inside a crashed vehicle on Motor Drive near 8 Mile Road around 4:23 a.m. the same morning, according to CBS News. He didn’t make it — pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two cities. Four victims. One dead. And the people who run this country will express sorrow, hold no votes, and go back to their guarded offices and gated neighborhoods.
This is the two-tier safety system in action. The ruling class in Washington — the ones who defund police, decriminalize offenses, and champion progressive prosecutors — never has to live with the consequences.
Congress members walk the Capitol behind metal detectors and armed officers. Their neighborhoods are patrolled.
Their families are protected. Yours get the 700 block of 6th Street at 1:27 in the morning.
WJLA reported the D.C. investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099. In Detroit, police ask tipsters to call 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
No suspect in custody in either city. No answers for the families. And no accountability for the policymakers who turned these streets into shooting galleries.
The question isn’t when the next shooting happens — it’s whether the people who govern us will ever have to live in the America they built for everyone else.
WATCH: South Carolina block party thugs with machine gun, spear charged in mob attack on officers, police say

A chaotic Fourth of July block party in North Charleston, South Carolina, that erupted into gunfire, involved a machine gun and spear, and erupted with an assault on police officers has now resulted in charges against six people, including four juveniles, authorities announced.
The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) announced charges against six people and identified two adults who have been charged in connection with the July 4 incident in the Chicora-Cherokee community.
The juveniles face charges ranging from third-degree assault by mob, assault on a police officer while resisting arrest, resisting arrest, possession of a machine gun and breach of peace.
Because they are juveniles, police did not release their identities.
Authorities also arrested 19-year-old Giovanni Mekhi Sincere Campbell, of North Charleston, who is charged with possession of a machine gun, and 18-year-old Sa’Mya Adriana Collette Weaver, who is charged with breach of peace and assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.
Police said the investigation remains active, and additional arrests and charges are possible.
The confrontation unfolded after officers responded to a city-permitted neighborhood block party in the Chicora-Cherokee community at about 8:30 p.m. on July 4….
Police said multiple officers were assaulted during the incident, with two female officers suffering minor injuries.
Following the incident, the department said, “Attacks on law enforcement are unacceptable and those responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Viral video from the scene shows a female officer attempting to detain a woman when several people rush in, pull the officer to the ground and begin striking her.
Another officer intervenes, deploying what appears to be a stun gun before helping restrain individuals involved in the attack…

Pressure mounts on YMCA to ditch transgender policies after Supreme Court Title IX ruling

The YMCA is facing renewed pressure to change its policies on transgender access to sex-segregated locker rooms, sports teams and overnight accommodations after the American Parents Coalition (APC) argued the organization’s rules conflict with the Supreme Court‘s recent Title IX rulings.
The coalition argued the nonprofit, which operates about 2,600 locations nationwide and receives more than $600 million annually in government funding, should update its policies to align with the Supreme Court’s interpretation of Title IX because it accepts taxpayer funding.
In a letter sent this week to YMCA President and CEO Suzanne McCormick and the organization’s board of directors, APC urged the organization to revise its policies governing sports, bathrooms, locker rooms and overnight accommodations following the Supreme Court’s June 30 decisions in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox.
In a decision that was unanimous on the Title IX question and split 6-3 on constitutional grounds, the Supreme Court ruled that states can limit women’s and girls’ sports to biological females and that Title IX’s use of the word ‘sex’ refers to biological sex.
“The Supreme Court has drawn an unmistakable line by reaffirming that Title IX’s protections are rooted in biological sex,” American Parents Coalition Executive Director Alleigh Marré said in a statement. “The YMCA has ignored parents’ concerns for far too long while maintaining policies that undermine the privacy, safety, and fairness Title IX was enacted to protect. The Court’s decisions should serve as a wake-up call for every federally funded institution.”
The coalition is calling on YMCA leadership to rescind policies allowing biological males to participate in female sports or access female-only bathrooms, locker rooms and overnight accommodations, publish updated policies recognizing sex-based protections for women and girls, and publicly affirm the organization’s commitment to complying with Title IX….
Trump admin uncovers 7,100% surge in Medicare transplant claims, says anti-fraud crackdown blocked millions

The Trump administration revealed new figures that show a drastic 7,100% spike in Medicare claims for tissue and organ transplants in just six years as the task force led by
Vice President JD Vance continues to crack down on fraud across the country.
The staggering increase in claims occurred between 2019 and 2025, surging from $200 million to $14.4 billion, prompting the anti-fraud task force and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to identify potentially fraudulent claims and deny 96% of claims made since March.
The CMS, which is led by Administrator Mehmet Oz, identified 4,200 suspicious claims for tissue and organ transplants, known as allografts, totaling $224 million in charges through May of this year.
“That’s a lot of money,” Oz said during a press conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday. “And that bankrupts not just hospital systems and physician groups, but it causes major problems across the entire landscape.”
The agency also found alleged fraudulent claims for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), which includes wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds and other essential equipment.
The agency says that payments have been suspended to 102 suppliers and revoked billing privileges for an additional 725 suppliers.
“In just six months, the task force has effectively wiped out Durable Medical Equipment fraud in America,” a spokesperson for Vance’s office told Fox News Digital. “After the vice president and Dr. Oz announced a moratorium on new DME companies, paired with aggressive enforcement actions by DOJ and HHS, this kind of fraud has effectively ended.”
The suppliers who were suspected of fraud and had payments suspended represented 8.6% of all Medicare-funded Durable Medical Equipment in 2025….
Trump explains why he’s flying old Air Force One back to DC

President Donald Trump addressed speculation about the dangers of flying home from the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, amid Iranian threats, saying he is not flying home on the new Air Force One because the aircraft is being sent to the United Kingdom.
“It’s flying to Europe, to one of the big bases,” Trump said. “Two or three of the big bases where we can show it to the people. And we’ll be going home by normal methods.”
Trump said the aircraft would stop at “a couple of bases,” including one in particular, “so the soldiers can see it, because it’s truly magnificent.”
In a Truth Social post earlier Wednesday, Trump said the new aircraft was being sent to Mildenhall Air Force Base in the United Kingdom to honor U.S. troops.
“To honor our brave men and women of the Military, we are sending the brand new, and truly spectacular, Air Force One to Mildenhall Air Force Base, in the United Kingdom, to give them a chance to tour the Aircraft — Everybody is so excited, and we thought that they should be the first,” Trump wrote.
“For old time’s sake, we’ll be taking the former Air Force One, from Turkey to Mildenhall, a short trip that is totally worth doing in order to give our Great Military Heroes a chance to appreciate our beautiful new addition to the Air Force Fleet!” he added….
‘Online Predator Network’: Court Hears Chinese Migrants in Germany Shared Rape Advice in Group Chat

BERLIN (AP) – They called themselves the “German driving school for experts,” but prosecutors say the true purpose of their Telegram chats was to brag about the women they raped and share tips about how to drug them.
In posts that sometimes included photos and videos of their attacks on unconscious victims, they referred to women as “cars,” sedatives as “fuel” and rape as “driving,” according to court documents. They called their victims “dead pigs.”
Investigators have been poring through several years’ worth of posts in roughly two dozen group chats on the popular messaging app that authorities believe served an online predator network of mainly Chinese men targeting mostly Chinese women in Germany.
Their investigation has led to the convictions of three alleged inner circle members on rape and other charges, and the ongoing trial of a fourth man in Berlin.
“The perpetrators were characterized by a particular ruthlessness, an objectification of the victims, and the perfidious planning of their crimes,” Frankfurt chief prosecutor Dominik Mies told The Associated Press.
Major details of the investigation remain unknown, at least to the public, including how many attacks and perpetrators have been linked to the German Telegram chats and how the chats, some of which reportedly had tens of thousands of members, could have operated for so long.
It’s also unclear if the chats are linked to a ballooning investigation in Europe and the Americas into drug-facilitated sexual assaults by misogynist online communities.
Under German privacy laws, prosecutors are limited in what they can say outside the courtroom, documents are restricted and, in the ongoing case in Berlin, members of the public have been forced to leave the courtroom during parts of the trial.
This may be why the investigation into the Telegram group has garnered less attention in Germany than might be expected.
But members of the country’s Chinese community, mostly women, have been attending court proceedings to show support for the victims even if they don’t know them….
24 Arrested in Joint U.S., Canada, Europe Crackdown on Indian Organized Crime Gangs

Among the defendants charged on Tuesday notably stands 33 year-old Lawrence Bishnoi, an imprisoned gang boss leader who runs his crime syndicate from a jail in India.
Bishnoi is one of the men linked to the 2023 assassination of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada — an incident that caused a significant diplomatic impasse between India and Canada at the time.
The Justice Department detailed that “Operation Hard Ball,” a years-long federal investigation into Indian crime syndicates, resulted in 37 defendants being charged on Tuesday.
“Today’s coordinated operation strikes at the heart of three brutal transnational organizations that have terrorized families, exploited communities, and stolen lives through ruthless acts of violence in the U.S. and abroad,” Patrick Grandy, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, said.
“We, alongside our partners, remain steadfast in our commitment to identifying these violent organizations, disrupting their activities, and ensuring they face the justice they deserve,” he continued.
The Justice Department detailed that, in total 37 defendants were charged across three unsealed indictments.
Of the total, 11 were arrested in California, one in Indiana, and one in Georgia.
Additionally, three defendants were arrested in Canada, one individual in Spain, and seven were already under law enforcement custody prior to Tuesday.
The defendants stand accused of engaging in racketeering, targeted killings, shooting, extortion, drug trafficking, and several other crimes around the world — particularly impacting the Indian diaspora.
Approximately 1,000 kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of heroin, $40,000 in cash, and a dozen firearms were seized by law enforcement agents during the investigation….

Trump: A little birdie told me this about the fact that we’ll give them the right to make Patriots. We’ll show them how to do it. It’s very complex, actually. But it’s, you’ll figure out the complexity quickly.
And we’re talking about that, and we’ll—the company that makes them, which is building now four plants, you know, all of our companies will be able to do this in 2 to 3 months. If you order a Patriot, now you have to wait a long time for them. Same thing with Tomahawks. We have a lot of certain equipment, but with the—they call it the elite equipment, and you don’t need elite equipment, necessarily, for a war.….
Homeowner Faces $100 Fine For Flying American Flag In California HOA

One California neighborhood says it’s fighting for patriotism after its homeowners association banned residents from flying the American flag.
Amy Cooke, a resident of this San Marcos, California, community, was told she would be fined $100 if she did not remove the flag she has displayed outside her home for the last 20 years.
“I’m not going to stop,” Cooke said in an interview with inewsource. “It’s clear that I have the right to fly the American flag.”
According to homeowners, the dispute began after some residents started displaying sports team flags, something the HOA did not want.
They say the HOA responded by adopting a 2024 policy prohibiting all flags from being displayed, including the American flag.
While the HOA says residents are free to fly the American flag, it argues that residents cannot fly them from areas it considers common property, including the garage where Cooke has displayed hers for the past 20 years.
The legal debate centers around what qualifies as an “exclusive use common area”—areas like balconies, patios, parking spaces, and exterior doors that are designated for one homeowner’s use but are still considered common property under HOA rules.
In an article written by association lawyer Kelly G. Richardson, he details this nuance.
“Many condominiums are bought with the mistaken belief that the exclusive use area, such as perhaps a balcony, is ‘theirs’ and the HOA cannot dictate how it is used. However, it is still a common area, and the association can limit how the homeowner uses that area. Therefore, associations often have rules regarding use of particular exclusive use areas, such as balconies or patios.”
Homeowners argue that regardless of where the flag is mounted, the HOA’s policy conflicts with federal and California protections for displaying the American flag.
The federal Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 generally prohibits homeowners associations from adopting or enforcing rules that prevent homeowners from displaying the American flag, while still allowing reasonable restrictions on the time, place, or manner in which it is displayed.
The HOA board has not released a statement or responded to the Daily Signal’s request for comment by the time of publication.

Border Patrol warns of rideshare human smuggling risks in El Paso

In the U.S. Custom and Border Protection Sector of El Paso, which includes two west Texas counties and all of New Mexico, Border Patrol agents are warning rideshare drivers about the severe legal and physical dangers they face if they fall victim to or participate in transnational criminal smuggling operations.
El Paso is a major human smuggling corridor located directly across the Rio Grande River from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, one of the most violent places in the world.
The Juárez Cartel and street gangs associated with it, La Línea and Bario Azteca, have been warring with the Sinaloa Cartel for control of a multi-billion-dollar human trafficking and drug trade there.
The city is also known for the targeted murder of women.
Over the past 30 years, more than 2,300 women have been murdered there, according to multiple reports.
Border Patrol is now warning that human smugglers are increasingly using legitimate mobile apps “to insulate themselves from law enforcement” by arranging rideshare pickups in the region.
This includes in secluded desert locations, on remote highway shoulders near the border wall or in commercial staging lots, the agency says.
Border Patrol is urging rideshare drivers to be on the lookout for signs of human smuggling.
This includes “passengers wearing heavily soiled clothing, groups attempting to exceed vehicle occupant limits, third-party bookings where the account holder is absent, or passengers who appear visually stressed and unaware of their current location.”
Border Patrol is also warning that drivers who accept suspicious fares risk being detained and investigated at highway checkpoints.
Under federal and state law, they could face felony charges for “alien smuggling and harboring.”
State penalties are more severe than federal penalties after Gov. Greg Abbott and the state legislature responded to a worsening border crisis. Smugglers face up to 10 years in prison per state smuggling charge.
Smugglers facing federal charges have historically faced only a few years in prison, The Center Square has reported. Texas also increased state penalties for stash houses and kidnapping, The Center Square reported.…

In blow to Newsom, shock pick has huge lead in 2028 Democratic primary poll

In a blow to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, another potential 2028 Democratic Party candidate for president is shockingly way ahead of him in a new poll.
The new survey from the Daily Mail/JL Partners shows that 29% of registered Democratic voters want to see former Vice President Kamala Harris be the 2028 party candidate for president.
The pick may be considered stunning as Harris, who like Newsom hails from the Golden State, was the Democrats’ 2024 candidate for president and lost the election to Republican Donald Trump.
The survey showed Newsom, who has said he is considering a White House run, garnering support from 15% of registered Dem voters, far behind Harris.
In third place was former federal Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, with 11% support.
The survey showed 9% of responding Democrats weren’t sure about their pick.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro were among the candidates getting single-digit support in the poll.
The survey took asked 1,040 registered Democratic Party voters for their take on the 2028 party primary for president….
