Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge has uncovered records pointing to Chinese blackmail efforts targeting the Biden family – documents that sat in plain sight for the legacy media, the FBI, and the CIA, only to be met with willful blindness.
In a recent appearance discussing declassified materials related to China’s 2020 election influence operations, Herridge described finding references to blackmail by China that were prepared for inclusion in the president’s daily brief.
“I found these records which are talking about blackmail by China,” Herridge explained, adding “It was for President Biden’s daily brief. I can conclude, I think, that it was probably about targeting his family.”
She noted that the findings, along with broader evidence of suppressed intelligence on Chinese influence, were ignored and buried in order to protect Democratic power, stating that “in the media or legacy media there was kind of a willful blindness.

The bookkeeping maneuver, which was described by three people briefed on it, is the latest sign of financial duress for the Democratic National Committee and its embattled leader as money troubles threaten to undercut Democratic momentum with 100 days until the midterms.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear Demands Mitch McConnell ‘Provide Proof’ That He’s Fit to Serve
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) demanded in a blunt letter sent to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his staff that McConnell verbally address constituents and demonstrate his ability to serve or resign his seat.
The big picture: It’s been more than 40 days since 84-year-old conservative stalwart McConnell was hospitalized and appeared outside photos released by his office. His lengthy absence and past health scares are fueling speculation about his capacity to serve.
Driving the news: Beshear wrote that he was also sending the letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), urging him to investigate McConnell’s capacity to serve.
- “I understand anyone’s desire for privacy, but when you run for office and serve as one of a state’s two U.S. senators, you willingly abdicate much of your personal privacy,” the letter read. “That’s the deal, and we all know it when we run.”
- Beshear concluded the letter: “All of this speculation and even this letter could have been avoided with a minimal amount of transparency,” adding, “Kentuckians are just asking you to be honest.”

Elon Musk Launches ‘X Money’ Financial Services Platform to Replace Banks
Mashable reports that the new X Money service provides comprehensive banking and financial capabilities directly within the X platform, currently available exclusively to paying X Premium and Premium+ subscribers.
The service integrates peer-to-peer payments, money transfers, deposit accounts, and a physical Visa debit card into the social media experience.
According to X’s announcement, X Money enables users to conduct everyday financial transactions within the app as they would with a traditional bank account.
The service supports wire transfers, check mailing, bill payments, and direct deposit for paychecks. Users can also send and receive money to anyone else on the X platform.
The company claims that users can receive their paychecks up to two days early through direct deposit.
A key component of the service is the X Card, a physical Visa debit card that offers three percent cash back on eligible purchases and fee-free ATM withdrawals at locations worldwide.
The card integrates with digital wallet services including Apple Pay and Google Pay, allowing users to make contactless payments.
The interest rates offered differ based on subscription tier.

Police detained several of the young people and issued criminal citations. Authorities also confiscated some of the e-bikes….
Major Quake Shakes Southern Japan, Thousands Evacuated
Apowerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s Kumamoto prefecture on Tuesday, causing widespread damage, power outages and a shopping mall explosion that left several people feared dead, according to Reuters.
The report said the shallow quake injured at least 50 people, disrupted roads and bridges, and prompted evacuation orders for about 300,000 residents.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said authorities were still assessing the full extent of the damage as 3,600 troops were deployed to assist rescue and recovery operations.
( According to Reuters, 20 to 30 workers remained unaccounted for after an explosion at an Aeon shopping mall following the earthquake. Emergency responders said multiple people were trapped, while police feared several fatalities.)

Semiconductor manufacturer TSMC evacuated workers from its Kumamoto facility, while officials confirmed there were no abnormalities at nearby nuclear power plants. A tsunami warning was later lifted.

Spain will hold new elections next year, expected to occur no later than August 22, 2027. Although the Spanish conservative People’s Party obtained the most amount of seats in the August 2023 elections,
Sánchez and the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) managed to cling to power by securing alliances with minority leftist parties — allowing PSOE to secure enough votes for Sánchez’s current four year term.
PSOE and the Sánchez administration, however, find themselves navigating through an extremely complex moment as the last year of the current parliamentary term approaches.
The Spanish socialists have been rocked by several corruption scandals and widespread rejection — most notably, with regards to the widely revile mass amnesty plan that saw some 1.2 million illegal migrants apply to receive “legal” status in Spain and all the benefits that it entails.
Spanish market research firm Sigma Dos held a survey for the newspaper El Mundo published on Monday whose results mark a scathing condemnation of the current socialist government.
According to the study, 60 percent of Spaniards hold some form of negative opinion of the current Spanish legislature, against a minority 12 percent who finds it “good, positive, and competent.”
Out of the 60 percent majority, a group of 30.3 percent of respondents finds it “disastrous,” “nefarious,” and “ruinous.”
Furthermore, 31 percent of respondents said that they do not recognize any achievement attributable to the current Spanish government.
Other, equally condemning opinions, such as “deceitful,” “fraudulent,” “chaotic,” “unstable,” “confusing,” and “disappointing,” were reportedly espoused by the survey’s respondents.
In light of the rejection of the Spanish socialist government and the current state of the nation’s politics, as many as 41 percent believe that next year’s elections will be brought forward to anywhere during the first trimester of 2027.
El Mundo explained that the survey asked participants on their opinion on a list of decisions taken by the current legislature.
Unsurprisingly, 53.6 percent of respondents expressed a negative opinion of the mass amnesty for illegal migrants…..
‘Intimidation’: French Warship Accused of Opening Fire to Threaten British MP Observing Migrant Boats
Conservative Party home affairs spokesman Chris Philp was joined by government-adjacent news outlets on a hired boat in the English Channel on Wednesday morning to record interview pieces about the boat migrant crisis, but was interrupted by a small French warship engaging in what was said to be a live firing exercise.
Philip called the shooting an apparent attempt at intimidation by the French, given the sea was otherwise clear of craft, the firing only took place as the French warship was at its closest point of approach to the British boat, and there was no warnings broadcast by radio beforehand.
British state media the BBC, which was interviewing Philp at sea as the firing commenced, caught in their footage the French patrol boat P676 Flamant passing approximately 300 meters to starboard while the Conservative politician delivered a piece to camera, and as the firing began.
Coastal patrol boats of the Flamant type, which are mainly for coastal constabulary duties, carry no fixed naval weapons systems but can embark machine guns, and in this case the firing exercise was reported to be a French officer discharging a handgun at a towed target.
Philip told the BBC that the shooting in close proximity to his boat where there was plenty of sea room to exercise elsewhere “felt to me like an attempted intimidation to stop us covering migrant crossings”. He told the broadcaster:…
Zelenskyy meets Trump at White House as Ukraine seeks more US support
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held closed-door talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, as Ukraine sought renewed diplomatic and military support in its war against Russia.
Zelenskyy spent just over an hour with Trump, and while no details were immediately released, the talks came as Kyiv and Moscow intensified long-range strikes and US-led efforts to end the war remained stalled.
“A good meeting with President Trump at the Oval Office. Thank you for everything we do together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and advance peace,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X after the meeting.
“The President and I discussed licenses for Patriot interceptor production and several other ideas that could help. We also spoke about diplomacy – it’s important that the diplomatic process be reinvigorated. Our teams will arrange the details of their further communication. I am grateful to the United States for its firm support.”
Relations between Zelenskyy and Trump have improved since the start of the US president’s second term.
Earlier this month, Trump offered Kyiv licences to produce Patriot air defence missiles and suggested Ukrainian strikes inside Russia could help bring the war to an end.
Last month was the deadliest for Ukrainian civilians since April 2022, according to the United Nations, as Russia stepped up its use of hard-to-intercept ballistic missiles.
Zelensky is also due to attend a memorial service for Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a staunch supporter of Ukraine who died unexpectedly this month at the age of 71.
“I offered President Trump our condolences on the passing of Lindsey Graham. He was a true friend of Ukraine,” he wrote.
Trump will then welcome Netanyahu as the two leaders seek to overcome recent public disagreements over the Iran war.
Their relationship came under strain during ceasefire negotiations earlier this year, when Trump publicly criticised the Israeli leader, although both have since sought to play down their differences….
CNN stunned at shock poll: voters trust GOP more on Iran War
The political situation in Washington, D.C., may shift rapidly, but one undeniable and unshakeable truth has emerged in recent years, one still borne out by polling: voters don’t trust the Democrats at all. They don’t like Democrats.
And as unpopular as aspects of the Trump administration may be, it’s still the case that the American people are incredibly reluctant to return Democrats to power.
This is true, even on an issue where the Trump administration is comparatively weak. I’m talking about the Iran War.
It’s true that the American people have real questions about the advisability of the course of action Trump has taken.
We don’t like living with higher gas prices, and we don’t like seeing American soldiers killed in yet another war in the Middle East.
We’re also skeptical that we’re going to end up in a better situation than we were to start with, though President Trump has maintained this war is absolutely necessary in order to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, which he says threatens our security and that of our allies.
The American people have mixed feelings about that, according to polling. But they don’t trust Democrats to do a better job.
The Democrats just can’t get past their reputation. Americans do not trust them to govern. Why is that? Well, I can only speculate.
But if they’re watching the news, they see that the Democratic Party is currently in the midst of an internal revolution, where comparatively normal and sane Democrats are being replaced by far-left ideologues, some of whom are actually on the side of America’s enemies, like Hamas.
It’s one thing to want to be less involved in the Middle East — I want to be less involved, please! It’s quite another to actually affirmatively root for the people who hate us and attack our allies….
Energy advocate: Emergency energy order reveals wind, solar power failure
The U.S. Department of Energy issued an emergency order across 17 states directing the employment of unused backup generation to keep power during summer heat, and an energy industry advocate says the emergency points to the unreliability and failure of wind and solar power.
Founder and director of energy worker advocacy group Power the Future Daniel Turner told The Center Square:
“We’ve been powering this country with electricity for almost 150 years – through World War II, through the Great Depression, through the Dust Bowl – and we’ve never had electricity problems until the last 20 years.”
“The American people need to ask why,” Turner said. “The American people need to understand where their energy comes from, and why it has been either politicized or weaponized.”
“It’s not like we have forgotten how to power the country,” Turner said. “ It’s not data centers. It’s not demand. It’s not Elon Musk. We know how to produce reliable affordable energy.”
“The question is, why we don’t do it anymore,” Turner said. “And that’s a really difficult conversation.”
Turner said that “wind and solar are failing because they’re intermittent and that’s always going to be their problem.”
“Wind will always rely upon wind power, and the wind does not always blow,” Turner said. “Solar is always going to rely upon fixed hours, and we’re always going to have nighttime.
“So there’s a delta, and that delta is where prices begin to spike because our energy consumption doesn’t decrease based upon certain times,” Turner said.
“ In fact, a lot of energy actually goes up at night,” Turner noted. “People put on their air conditioners at home when they’re trying to sleep et cetera, so our energy consumption actually starts to go up at nighttime and that’s when solar disappears.
“When you have these intermittent sources of electricity – but your demand is consistent – that is going to create constant disruptions in markets,” Turner said. “And that’s what we’re seeing right now.”
On Sunday, the Department of Energy issued an emergency order “to keep Americans across 17 states powered during the region’s energy emergency brought on by hot weather conditions,” according to a press release. ..
